1971 Super Beetle Auto-stick - $1,200 (W TISBURY)

This 53 year old Beetle has plenty of body rust.
Surprisingly it is rather sound underneath with only a small hole under the battery??? It was restored at some point then sat for many many years under a car cover which had mostly disintegrated when I picked it up.
I put in fresh gas, cleaned the points and plugs, put a good battery in it and it started right up.
The muffler is rusted so it is a little loud but it seems to run pretty good.
No sign of oil leaking.
I mounted some decent tires on it and have now driven it around my neighborhood a half dozen times.
The electric/vacuum clutch is not working so you have to shut it off to shift gears.
The brakes have air in the lines and are soft.
The front seats are pretty good.
I pirated the back seat for a 65 that I am rebuilding (that I was inspired to buy after driving this one!) I was going to keep it for the engine but I decided to stick with the 65's original single port.
There is no Title.
It is really just a parts car or maybe a off road buggy? I have a video of it running I can send if you are interested.
It is on Martha's Vineyard but the price includes delivery to the south coast up to 40 miles from Woods Hole.
Beyond that I would charge $2 a mile.
