The *Meal Center Coordinator* is based in *New Bedford* and is responsible for the production and serving of hot and cold meals to the general public, as well as ensure safety practices in compliance with Health Department codes, making sure best practices and proper cooking techniques are followed (i.
e.
food temperature, food safety and quality).
*Qualifications*
* High School Diploma or GED
* Certified Food Safety Certification required
* Food service or related experience preferred
* Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service focus
* Courteous, professional presentation, cooperative and positive attitude when working with people of various ethnicities, languages and personality types
* Must have a valid driver’s license
*Duties and Responsibilities*
The Soup Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the functions of the program are met while providing services that are safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and client-centered.

* Must manage multiple priorities, maintain effective time management skills, and plan and organize duties accordingly
* Maintaining health and safety standards and Food Sanitation Certification and adhere to food safety protocols
* Responsible for maintaining and ordering food and supplies, paper goods, cleaning chemicals and weekly bread runs
* Responsible for labeling and dating all items upon storing
* Must plan and follow daily lunch menu
* Responsible for the daily preparation of hot meals, soups, deserts, salads and side dishes and serve to the general public
* Must follow all sanitation requirements: hair nets and gloves must be worn while preparing and serving food
* Must maintain accurate daily records of the number of meals served and create monthly report
* Interact with all individuals in a friendly, positive and professional manner and report any complaints or issues to the House Manager
* Maintain and check the temperature of the walk in freezer daily
