Job Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst at WHOI will play a pivotal role in the implementation, enhancement and optimization of the institution's Workday technology ecosystem, encompassing Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, and Finance modules.
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Systems, the ideal candidate will possess prior experience working with Workday technology, specifically within the non-profit research sector.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify, implement, and maintain solutions that streamline and enhance WHOI's Workday processes, including active involvement in the implementation of Workday and collaboration with stakeholders from People Operations and Finance.
Anticipated end of project date: January 1, 2025.
Essential Functions:
System Enhancement and Optimization: Collaborate with the Director of Business Systems to analyze WHOI's Workday setup, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement enhancements to streamline processes and increase overall efficiency.
Configuration and Customization: Configure and customize Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, and Finance, to align with WHOI's unique requirements while adhering to best practices and maintaining data integrity.
Implementation and Project Management: Play a key role in the implementation of Workday, working closely with stakeholders from People Operations and Finance to gather requirements, define project scope, manage timelines, and ensure successful system deployment.
Integration and Data Management: Design and implement integration solutions between Workday and other internal and external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and accuracy across the institution.
User Support and Training: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and deliver training sessions to ensure efficient and effective utilization of the Workday platform.
System Upgrades and Maintenance: Collaborate with the IT team to manage system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks, ensuring the Workday environment remains up-to-date and secure.
Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain customized reports and dashboards within Workday to provide stakeholders with actionable insights for data-driven decision-making.
Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to understand business needs, gather requirements, and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday technology, including configuring and customizing modules such as HCM, Payroll, and Finance.
Prior experience within the non-profit research sector is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of the industry.
Strong proficiency in system integration, data management, and troubleshooting within the Workday environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Proven track record of delivering successful Workday projects, enhancements, and optimizations.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
