We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Materials Testing and Technical Writer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing rigorous testing on raw materials, analyzing data, and producing comprehensive technical documentation.
This role requires proficiency in statistical analysis, technical writing, and a strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles.
What you’ll be doing as a materials testing and technical writer RM Testing: Perform rigorous testing on raw materials, including verification of physical and chemical properties.
Conduct incoming testing to ensure materials meet quality standards.
Analyze test data and provide insights to optimize material selection and usage.
Prepare materials, samples, and specimens for testing and analysis.
Technical Writing: Develop technical test plans outlining testing methodologies, procedures, and objectives.
Prepare detailed technical test reports summarizing findings, analysis, and recommendations.
Create comprehensive documentation for design verification for customer deliverables.
Produce clear and concise work instructions for testing procedures and equipment operation.
Statistical Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods to analyze materials and construction testing data.
Interpret results to identify trends, outliers, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with process engineering teams to optimize manufacturing processes based on data insights.
What you need to be successful Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
3+ years proven experience in materials testing and analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Experience in reading and writing test plans and technical reports.
Skills you bring to this role Proficiency in statistical analysis tools/software.
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and documentation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.
g.
, AS9100, ISO9001).
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding assigned activities and potential issues.
Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
Working conditions and physical requirements Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Capable of sitting or standing for extended periods during the entire duration of shift Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and efficiency.
Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required.
