Description: Buyer/Purchasing Agent Direct to consumer, E-Commerce company, Marine Industry Who We Are: The TotalBoat brand was established in Bristol, Rhode Island in 2012 as a line of marine-grade products for boaters.
It has since grown to include a full range of adhesives and coatings for makers of all kinds! About the Role: The Buyer position will own their buylines, building relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders throughout the organization.
The buyer will be assigned a wide variety of buylines focused on our core product lines.
You will join a team of other buyers that will work closely to monitor all inventory levels, stock items, special order products, and promotions.
Each buyer plays a critical role in making sure their buylines are managed appropriately, communicating accurate lead times, stock outs, back orders, and any other information gathered from vendors.

Duties/Responsibilities: Developing an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders Delivering a weekly purchase order report to supervisors that indicates the invoice number for all closed orders Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned Orders and report any back ordered or missing products Assisting the Vice President of Operations with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate Ability to identify trends within the business and react accordingly to ensure proper stock is in place Opportunity to manage the TotalBoat Gear (swag) category, looking for the best styles, brands, and ways to show off our name! Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Required Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients and suppliers Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company An understanding of purchase order software platforms Excellent attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate Ability to work with a team Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company IT skills to troubleshoot essential computer programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Extremely proficient with Google Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
