We are searching for an LPN-Insurance Authorization to under the supervision of the Director of Business Operations or designee and within agency and department policies and procedures review and secure insurance authorization of all managed care cases, including selected specialties for homecare and hospice.
Assist and support clinicians with decisions related to authorization requests based on regulatory requirements.
Responsible for working with third-party payers, and other departments within the revenue cycle to obtain authorization and follow up on denials.
Communicate with providers and patients as needed.
Apply medical knowledge and experience to all tasks, using electronic technology whenever possible.
Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Day shift; 8:00am-4:30pm
Location: Southcoast Business Center – Fairhaven, MA
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with minimum of 2-5 years clinical experience in community healthcare.
Knowledge of medical insurance and regulation for certified homecare.
Must possess superior written, verbal, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to formulate clinical arguments to support treatment plans.
Demonstrated ability to work closely and effectively with peers across the organization.
Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Must be a team player with excellent attitude.
Strong service orientation and professionalism required.
Requires a working knowledge of various software programs including Excel, Word, Patient Billing Software, Electronic Medical Record, Electronic Fax.
