Job SummaryThe Human Capital Services Representative will support and coordinate all aspects of WorkersCompensation and Leave of Absence benefits.
The Human Capital Services Representative will provide casemanagement and program compliance, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act(FMLA), the Small Necessities Leave Act (SNLA), state and local leave laws, workers compensation andcontractual leaves.
The Human Capital Services Representative will also assist and support the EmployeeRelations Managers as needed and/or directed.
JOB GOALS: 1.
To assure the smooth efficient operation of the Human Capital Services Department, so as to maximize a positive impact on the education of students.
2.
To contribute to effective school public relations in the Human Capital Services Department by prompt and courteous handling of all employee inquiries regarding leaves of absence/workers compensation.
3.
To complete the confidential work essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Human Capital Services Department.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Facilitates the employee leave of absence administration process, including FMLA, SNLA, Parental Leave, Workers Compensation and contractually permitted leaves, from the employees initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work.
This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.

Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave.
Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
3.
Responsible for administration of Human Capital Services programs, policies, processes and procedures.
4.
Maintain an efficient and well organized electronic and paper data collection and filing systems, including confidential personnel and medical files.
5.
Create forms, and compile and organize data and information necessary for the efficient operation of the office, the completion of required District and State data collections.
6.
Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, SNLA, and state and local laws.
7.
Work cooperatively with staff in other offices and external stakeholders regarding leaves and workers compensation and with the completion of large or time sensitive projects or emergencies.
8.
Responds appropriately to inquiries regarding District policies, procedures, benefits, and/or requests for information.
9.
Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their supervisor during leave as permitted and within reason.
10.
Other duties as assigned by the Office of Human Capital ServicesQUALIFICATIONS: 1.
At least one (1) year of Human Resources experience strongly preferred.
2.
Respect for confidentiality of all information is essential.
3.
Knowledge of FMLA, MPLA, SNLA, ADA, CORI's, and Workers Compensation strongly preferred.
4.
Must demonstrate an ability to maintain a professional office atmosphere.
5.
Must be self-motivated and flexible with an ability to set priorities and work with limited supervision.
6.
Must demonstrate strong skills in both written and verbal communications7.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and pay strict attention to detail.
8.
Must demonstrate an ability to effectively interact with staff, applicants and the community.
9.
Must demonstrate an ability to maintain an effective working relationship with colleagues and supervisors based upon respect and commitment.
11.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and MUNIS.
An independent willingness to upgrade skills as necessary is expected.

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, as needed.
May lift, push, pull up to 20 lbs.
Travel between school locations throughout the workday as needed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.
): May need to attend after school hours training, events and/or meetings on occasion and as scheduled.
OVERTIME ELIGIBLE: YesHourly Rate: $20.
