The Society of St.
Vincent de Paul Rhode Island is seeking responsible, drivers to join our growing Donation/Processing Center team.
Our donations of clothing, furniture, and small household items help to fund our Basic Human Needs programs to Rhode Islanders in need.
Help us continue to help our Rhode Island neighbors.
(Part-time and Full-time position available.
)
Responsibilities include:
* Safely drive a 26 ft.
box truck
* Operate a pallet jack
* Pick up donated goods and other materials
* Responsible for loading and unloading the truck work duties as assigned at our warehouse
* Provides maximum level of customer service to ensure repeat donors
* Maintains records such as Vehicle Logs and daily Trip Sheets according to all State and Federal laws and Company Procedures
* Load and unload trucks with donations from our containers, as well as sort and process donations as required
Qualifications include:
* One year of transportation experience
* Drive a 26 ft.
box truck
* Must be able to pass a medical exam to obtain a DOT card and passing an onsite driving test
* Certification to operate a forklift a plus but not required
* Able to sit, stand, walk, climb, and lift, pull and push 50-75 lbs.
throughout a shift
* Must meet and maintain safe driving standards of company’s insurance carrier
* Flexible - willing and able to work on short notice, including evening hours and weekends as needed
* High School Graduate or GED required
* Valid Rhode Island State Driver’s License required; clean driving record
* Reliable, excellent communication and customer service skills
* Additional warehouse duties included.

* Must be able to obtain acceptable results from required background checks and drug testing.
