*Job Summary:*
* Assume responsibility for direct technical supervision of the Nursing Department.
Interpret operational policy and procedures and review work performance to determine conformance to recognized standards and merit salary determinations.
* Makes recommendations for hiring, firing and scheduling decisions to the Executive Director, providing direct supervision and orientation of all nursing personnel or for delegating and supervising these duties.
* Evaluate productivity, work efficiency, and professional proficiency of all nursing department members.
* Assume responsibility for departmental related records, including but not limited to requisitioning of medical supplies and equipment, inventory systems, cleaning and maintenance schedule of nursing-related items, patient records, nursing hours, and patient reports.
*Qualifications:*
* EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited, approved school of nursing.
Current registration with the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
* TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least five years of nursing experience.
*We will provide DON Certification Training for new DON Candidates.
