About the role: The purpose of the Environmental Engineering Manager (EH&S Manager) position is to provide leadership to drive continuous improvement in Environment, Health & Safety performance, while assuring comprehensive operational compliance.
The Manager sets direction for and reinforces the importance of Environment, Health & Safety in the organization, manages the overall Environment, Health & Safety program, including development and implementation of strategies, policies and practices and works with plant senior management team to integrate Environment, Health & Safety performance into plant operations.
The Manager develops opportunities to provide strategic and competitive advantage through cross-functional interaction.
Design, plan and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control and remediation of environmental health hazards utilizing various engineering disciplines.
Work will include waste treatment and pollution control equipment as it relates to commercial hazardous chemical sterilization.
Your responsibilities will include: Develops, maintains, and reviews the EH&S program to ensure compliance with current and future legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.
Ensuring compliance with all environmental regulatory required permits and authorizations.
Provide system and component design to reduce negative impact on the environment Serve as a technical advisor on environmental policies and standards to ensure regulatory applicability Prepare and submit all regulatory reports Perform and maintain a FMEA for all regulatory failure modes and develop resource management schemes to ensure robust compliance Gather and apply data to identify environmental risk and make recommendations for mitigation/improvement Provide technical systems evaluations and work towards integrating latest technologies into pollution control systems.
Document and maintain plans, requirements, protocols, permits and standard operating procedures Maintain and socialize a relevant set up KPIs reflecting environmental performance Actively manage site wide ethylene oxide emissions and deliver year over year reductions Inspect industrial and municipal facilities and programs along with 3rd party sterilizers to evaluate operational effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements Report and escalate non-compliance as appropriate Assist in budget planning and implementation Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering – Chemical Engineering or Environment Engineering preferred 5+ years experience in related fields,1-2 years Health & Safety experience preferred 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience Advanced MS Office Skills Preferred qualifications: Working knowledge of relevant process and systems related to air and water effluent systems, technology and modeling Hands on experience with analytical, mechanical and compliance software Familiarity with quality assurance, documentation regulations and best practices Excellent research and writing skills to prepare documents and reports detailing compliance with federal, state and local regulations Strong troubleshooting skills to assist in the identification and resolution of cross functional issues from worker’s safety to environmental protection, anticipating problems and mitigating environmental damage Experience with process safety management and risk assessments Proven communication, influence and interpersonal skills Requisition ID: 578261 Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substance testing requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
