SUMMARY:
This is a full-time, 40 hrs.
/week position.
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk position is responsible for processing all transactions related to the activities of vendor payments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All activities relating to the payment of vendors including but not limited to:
Review invoices from vendors for accuracy and validity.
Ensure proper approval and supporting documentation is in order and prepare selection of invoices to be paid either by Check/ACH/Credit Card
Validate, maintain, and update vendor profiles and preferred payment methods.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain and prepare 1099’s recipients.
Follow up on any unclaimed checks and preparing unclaimed property.
Maintain monthly trending analysis.
Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process as directed by the Finance Manager.
Gather necessary account information and supporting documentation for external auditors.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
Strong data entry and time management skills.
Must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
EXPERIENCE:
2-4 years of accounts payable experience
Accounting degree preferred but not required.
